The owners brief for the property essentially was that it had to feel comfortable and lived in. Nothing too precious to sit on and boots allowed to stay on. But Besides this, the whole conceptual feel and design of the property was open slather for P1 Design.
Working with the handsome house designed by Shane Mann and Associates and working alongside master builder Peter Blythe, P1 Design has designed a sanctuary that exudes warmth, comfort with a relaxed elegance that will last the test of time and always be loved by all who reside and visit this amazing shack.
The ‘Country Lodge’ feel also encapsulates an undertone of marine nuances. This has been created by P1 Design with the use of as many natural materials as practically possible and heavily plays on texture and colour. From the timber ceilings and overstretched full height timber panelling on the living room walls (hidden doors reside within the panelled walls, leading to other rooms beyond). Natural stone feature walls segue in with steel and local Tasmanian timber elements seen throughout the property, especially seen in the purpose designed joinery units and the massive kitchen island bench.
All living room, bathroom, laundry and bedroom joinery throughout was designed by P1 Design and has purposely used a repetitious natural, underplayed colour pallet. It exudes elegance and homeliness throughout. The joinery team; lead by artisan Greg Hayes from Halton Joinery, brought the joinery alive. Their professionalism and eye for detail superb.
The thoughtful and careful selections and placement of all furniture selections, soft furnishings, rugs and art once again adds to the many subtle layers to build up a powerful, yet controlled pallet of warmth that wraps around it’s inhabitants.
Visit this shack and you may never want to leave.
